Non-LF Events

On Friday April 11th the Boston chapter of the Lebanese Kataeb party, had a  and a dinner with Samy Gemayel, son of President Amine Gemayel. The event included speeches by Samy and  various Kataeb official. In his speech Samy focused on the criticality of the situation in  Lebanon, and stressed the importance the Lebanese Christians need to play now and in the future. Samy also stressed the importance of dialogue amongst the Lebanese people so that we may come to common grounds and resolve all the issues that are causing the rift between the various Lebanese political parties.

The participation of the Lebanese Forces in this event  was  great. Lebanese Forces supporters from all over Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Connecticut were present at the event. Also noted in the event was the participation of the Lebanese Forces students as they too came in from various New England states.

Overall the event was a great success. It gave the crowd a feeling of what was happening on the grounds in Lebanon within March 14 coalition and in particular within the Christians of March 14th. Also the Lebanese Forces Students had a chance to get to know one another, and ties were developed between the different student chapters.

On Sunday December 25th the Lebanese Kataeb new england chapter, in association with the Lebanese Forces Boston and Methuen Chapters, held a memorial mass for the fallen Lebanese hero Sheikh Pierre Gemayel at our Lady of the Cedars Church in Boston. The Liturgy was followed by a community gathering at the church hall at which time a DVD commemorating the sacrifices of the Kataeb and sheikh Pierre was shown. Present at the lituragy and community gathering was the Leader of the National Liberal Party (NLP) Mr. Dory Chammoun. Mr Chammoun spoke of sheikh Pierre’s great character, and all his sacrifices for a free independent Lebanon. The ultimate sacrifice was giving himself for the great nation he loved, and soaking its sacred earth with his pure blood. Mr. Chammoun also emphasized the need for a presidential election in Lebanon, as well as the need to disarm all militias so that a strong government can reign over every inch of Lebanese soil.

The LFSNA made its presence notable by having students from various universities attend the mass, and the community gathering afterwards. It was truly an incredible event, that brought the Lebanese community closer together.

In hopes of only meeting in joyous occasions.
